Jeri L. Allphin
Sr. Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving
Jeri Allphin received her BS in Business Management from UVU in 1995 with the first group of baccalaureate graduates. She graduated from BYU Law School in 1998. She served as a law clerk in the Fourth District court, following law school, and joined the law firm of Esplin & Weight in 1999. She stayed with them until her appointment as Director of Alumni Relations in 2003.
She helped found and was the first School of Business alumni chapter chair. She received the Pinnacle Award in 2002 for her work.
Assistant Director of Alumni Relations
Kevin Walkenhorst is a marketing communications professional with over 25 years of experience in corporate communications, advertising and marketing.
He was formerly with KLAS Enterprises as director of marketing, owner of Walkenhorst Associates, and director of communications at Covey Leadership Center/Franklin Covey. He has also worked in advertising as account manager/media buyer at Hales Allen and Bennett Allen Advertising, and account/promotion manager at KTKK Radio.
Kevin has a B.A. in Communication from Brigham Young University and sits on the advisory board of the Thomas Jefferson Center.
Coordinator of Alumni Marketing & Membership
Amie Huntsman has worked at UVU since 2002. Before coming to Alumni Relations she worked as the Marketing Coordinator for UVU Extended Studies and as the Assistant Manager of Campus Connection.
While a student at UVU, she was a member of the UVU Spirit Squad, Section Editor for the UVU Review and Vice President of Wolverine P.R., a student-run public relations firm on campus. In addition, Amie was awarded the UVU Young Alumni award for 2013.
Amie has a B.S. in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from UVU.
Director of Annual Giving
Justin Ferrell joins Utah Valley University as the director of annual giving from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. While there, he helped turn around their struggling call center, first as a program coordinator and later as an assistant director of annual giving.
Prior to Emory, Justin was both a student caller and a student manager at Brigham Young University’s telefund program, where he assisted in rewriting their training for new callers, assisted in recruitment efforts, and participated as a volunteer with BYU’s Student Giving Campaign, Choose to Give.
Justin holds a bachelor of science degree in marriage, family, and human development from BYU. He spent time as a governing board member of the School of Family Life Student Association and comes to UVU with more than six years of experience in higher education fundraising. During his time in college, Justin also spent almost two years performing and organizing community service in northern Utah and southern Idaho.
